Surgery

The surgical department of the Pferdeklinik Leichlingen meets all the staffing and technological requirements of modern equine medicine. In emergencies, your horse can be operated on immediately after admittance. Our range of surgical provisions includes the following procedures:

 

Soft tissue surgery
Soft tissue surgery comprises abdominal surgery incl. colic surgery, laparoscopies, (minimally invasive abdominal cavity surgery), surgery of the upper respiratory tract, laryngeal hemiplegia surgery, thoracoscopy (minimally invasive thoracic cavity surgery), urogenital tract surgery.

 

Orthopaedic operations
These include arthroscopies, tendovaginoscopies, bursoscopies, fasciotomies, medial splint bone extirpations, osteosyntheses, surgical sectioning of the suspensory ligaments and neurectomies.

 

Eye surgery
In this area we offer vitrectomies, eyeball extirpation, cyclosporine implants as well as keratectomies and conjunctival flap surgery.
